The Purine Club
The Purine Club
is a non-profit scientific association founded in 1990 in
Milan, Italy, with the aim of gathering both basic and clinical researchers
interested in the pathophysiology of ATP and adenosine, and to foster
scientific exchanges between the academia and industry in this specific
research field.
Initially meant to represent a reference point for Italian
scientists, in 1994 it was opened to all interested scientists in the world
and the
"National Chapters" of the Purine Club
were established. The Club has now more than 400 members.
The Purine Club has organized
"Purines '92", the first of a series of international meetings to
be held every four years. The first edition was successfully held in Milan
in June 1992 with the participation of 265 scientists from 23 different
countries.
